Paris school pulls out of Saclay project

Paris’ Ecole des Mines, a prestigious engineering postgraduate school also known as ParisTech, has pulled out of a project to build a shared university campus in Saclay, south of the capital, reports technology periodical L’Usine Nouvelle.

Partners in the Saclay project are applying for a share of the government’s €7.7 billion Idex fund, aimed at establishing between five and 10 university campuses of world renown across France. These include most of the top universities in the Paris region.
