The European Investment Bank signed a loan of €45 million with Spanish company Ingeteam on 28 June to fund R&D activities in renewable energy until 2013.
The money will fund research into electrical equipment, control and power distributions systems, to be used in wind turbine generators, photovoltaic installations or thermo- and hydroelectric plants.
