Commission raises Tempus programme funding to €47m

The European Commission is going to spend €47 million on higher education in Russia and other countries neighbouring the EU through its Tempus programme this year: this is €17m more than last year. From 2012, the money will fund about 60 partnerships between institutions in the EU and neighbouring countries,for projects lasting two to three years. Their aim is to modernise curricula, teaching methods and management in local HE institutions.
