Commission to reward carmakers for using carbon-saving technologies

Car manufacturers will receive CO2 emissions credits as a reward for fitting their vehicles with approved eco-innovations, according to a law adopted by the European Commission on 25 July, news website EurActiv reports.

The credits will be usable in the EU’s emissions trading scheme, a market-based system that provides economic incentives for decreasing greenhouse gases emissions.
