Fermilab and Cern battle as US lab closes in on Higgs Boson

Fermilab, the US-based particle physics laboratory, is closing in on the sensitivity needed to confirm the existence of the elusive Higgs Boson, the laboratory announced on 21 July.

Fermilab is competing with the Switzerland-based Cern laboratory on finding the Boson, which is needed to explain mass and prove the Standard Model of physics.
