Framework applicants achieve 21 per cent success rate in 2010

The European Commission distributed €3.9 billion of research funding in 2010 through 63 calls for proposals—a success rate for applicants of about 21 per cent. Close to 2,600 proposals were selected for Framework 7 funding in 2010, according to the Commission’s annual report on R&D activities of the EU, released earlier this month. In 2011, Framework 7 will focus on funding for: small businesses; multidisciplinary research on ocean management; clinical trials for medicines; ICT for an ageing society; and Latin American research organisations.
