International Earth science programme threatened by US funding cuts

Scientists are concerned that a major international programme for earth science is losing its funding, the BBC online reports.

The Integrated Ocean Drilling Program is funded mostly by Japan, the US and Europe. Its science plan runs from 2013 to 2023 and could improve our understanding of tsunamis and earthquakes, the BBC writes.
