President to reform Italian research agency

The Italian basic research agency has appointed a reform-minded president on 13 August, reports the ScienceInsider website.

Francesco Profumo, former rector of the Polytechnic University of Turin, will head the National Research Council (CNR), a €1-billion agency with 100 institutes around Italy.
