Austria fails women academics
Measures to improve academic career prospects for women in Austria are mostly inefficient, the Austrian Court of Audit has said. In a report published on 25 August, the watchdog said women are still a minority in academia and earn less than men despite public spending of €9.9 million (£8.7m) in four universities between 2006 and 2009 to counteract the trend.
