Energy committee goes public on shale gas prospects

A key European Parliament committee is to host a public meeting on the potential contribution of shale gas in meeting the EU’s energy demands.

Members of ITRE, the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy, have invited speakers from academia and industry to debate the commercial viability, financial implications and technological requirements for using this controversial energy source.
