EPO steps up patent cooperation with Brazil

Benoit Battistelli, president of the European Patent Office, and his Brazilian counterpart, Jorge Ávila, have signed a compact on increasing cooperation on intellectual property issues.

“Co-operation between the EPO and INPI, the Brazilian National Industrial Property Institute, will benefit both Brazilian and European companies operating in the most important market in Latin America as well as users of the patent system in general,” said Battistelli.
