EU flight safety software to be used worldwide

International air traffic control organisations have agreed to monitor accidents and incidents using software developed by the Joint Research Centre.

The JRC, the European Commission’s research centre, established the use of the software across Europe in 2005. On 21 September the International Civil Aviation Organization, which represents air traffic control organisations, said the software would be adopted by all its members over the coming years.
