The Ecologic Institute Brussels marked its 10th birthday on 27 September with a panel discussion on GDP and indicators of sustainable development.
The meeting assessed the shortcomings of GDP in measuring sustainable progress and whether alternative indicators could complement or even replace it. The discussion also covered the current attempts of many international and national organisations to provide better indicators for measuring welfare and sustainability.
