European identity conference planned

Social scientists will hold a conference in Brussels next month to explore the question of whether a common European identity—or, perhaps, several such identities—are currently emerging.

The meeting, called The Development of European Identities: Policy and Research Issues, is being jointly organized by the European Commission and Robert Miller, a sociologist at Queens University, Belfast, and will take place in Brussels on 9 February.
