Allegations of corruption in Italian research ministry

Officials in the Italian government have been accused of giving out hundreds of millions of euros in EU funding, in part for research and innovation, in exchange for bribes, ScienceInsider blog has reported.

The article says that the allegations were described in a document sent anonymously to the Italian newspaper Il Fatto Quotidiano. The author is thought to be an official from within the ministry, the blog post says.
