Commission submits second proposal for 2013 budget

The European Commission has submitted a second proposal for the annual budget for 2013, after the EU Council and European Parliament failed to approve the first version before a 13 November deadline.

The second budget outline differs very little from the first proposal, with total commitments increasing by 0.08 per cent. Most areas including the competitiveness area (subheading 1a), which incorporates Framework 7, have received a fractional uplift in commitments, whilst agriculture and administrative spending have marginal reductions.
