Malta’s health nominee passes parliamentary interview

The European Parliament has quizzed Tonio Borg, Malta’s foreign minister, on his political track record, and has said it will likely approve his appointment as health commissioner during a vote this week. The post became vacant when John Dalli resigned on 16 October following an investigation by the European Commission’s anti-fraud office.
