Think tank calls for more use of public-private partnerships

Recipients of EU funding should consider how private spending could increase the economic value of their research, according to the European Policy Centre. In its report examining how public-private partnerships could be used to tackle the economic crisis in Europe, the Brussels think tank says that for PPPs to succeed in areas such as research requires better support mechanisms, including a dedicated EU advice unit and national training schemes, as well as guidance from the European Commission to describe opportunities for public-private cooperation.
