Bulgarian scientists protest against corruption

Scientists in Sofia are claiming that corruption has affected the selection of winners in a call for funding from the Bulgarian National Science Fund (BNSF), Nature News blog reports.

The blog states that more than 100 young Bulgarian scientists were involved in a second protest on 17 December, following a first protest on 5 December that produced little response. The protestors want results from a 14.8 million Lev (€7.6m) funding call from the BNSF to be thrown out and the research minister to resign, according to the story.
