EIB lending €625m to fund Spanish research

The European Investment Bank (EIB) has agreed to lend €625 million to Spain’s ministry of economy and competitiveness to fund research, development, and innovation in the country.

The sum is to cover 46 per cent of the ministry’s research, development, and innovation spending from 2012 to 2014 and the conditions of the loan are “very favourable,” according to a statement form the Spanish government.
