Europe and Japan extend medicines information agreement

Japan’s medicines regulatory authorities and the European Medicines Agency have extended an agreement, which lets both organisations exchange information on the regulation of medicines for use by humans.

The agreement, which was originally established in 2007, covers legislation and regulatory documents and drafts, scientific advice, application assessments and medicine safety information. The extended agreement will last until February 2013, the EMA announced on 14 February.
