Ministers defend humanities and social sciences

EU research ministers want humanities and social sciences to play a “central” role in the next research-funding programme Horizon 2020, they said during the Competitiveness Council on 20 and 21 February. Some ministers favour a separate pillar in Horizon 2020 for social sciences and humanities research.
