The Square Kilometre Array Site Advisory Committee has submitted its recommendation on which country should host the €1.5-billion radio telescope, but the recommendation is expected to remain secret until the international SKA Organisation has made its decision. Australia’s science minister Chris Evans is planning to visit Europe and China in an effort to win support for his country’s bid, while South Africa is also wooing Europe by pointing out its lower costs and relatively more convenient location. A decision is expected by late March or early April.
