EPO president visits Macedonia

Benoît Battistelli, president of the European Patent Office, made his first official visit to the former Yugoslav republic of Macedonia on 16 March.

Battistelli praised Macedonia’s efforts to revamp its intellectual property system since joining the office in 2009. He said in a statement: “The implementation and enforcement phase has begun, and there the EPO can bring its expertise in the patent field to bear in supporting SOIP’s activities through the bilateral co-operation plan.”
