Share of computing graduates drops in Europe

3.4 per cent of all EU university graduates earned a computing degree in 2009, down from 4 per cent in 2005.

According to figures published on 26 March by Eurostat, the biggest decrease in this period occurred in Portugal (from 5.1 to 1.7 per cent) and the UK (from 5.9 to 4 per cent). Meanwhile, the highest increases were reported in Malta (from 1.9 to 5.6 per cent) and Hungary (from 2 to 3.4 per cent).
