BASF continues trials of GM potatoes in Europe

German chemical corporation BASF has announced it will continue field trials of genetically modified potatoes in Europe.

In January, BASF Plant Science said it would stop producing GM crops in Europe—and focus instead on American and Asian markets, where political and consumer resistance to GM crops is weaker than in the EU.
