Horizon 2020 will provide adequate funding for the social sciences and humanities, according to the team of Robert-Jan Smits, the European Commission’s director-general for research.
“Humanities and social sciences research has been a priority for the Commission and the director-general reassures you that this will not change in the future under Horizon 2020,” Smits’ colleague Denise Heiligers said on his behalf, at a meeting organised by the League of European Research Universities in Leiden, Netherlands, on 29 March.
