The Directorate-General for Health and Consumers invites proposals for a study comparing systems restraining bovine animals by inversion or other unnatural position with systems maintaining animals in the upright position, taking into account the welfare aspects as well as the socio-economic implications.
Based on a scientific study comparing the systems, the tenderer will collect the relevant information to prepare a report foreseen in Article 27(2) of Regulation (EC) No 1099/2009 on the protection of animals at the time of killing.
