Commission makes GPS data available on the Internet—at a price

Data from the United States Global Positioning System of satellites can now be accessed over the internet, industry commissioner Antonio Tajani announced in Brussels on 26 July.

The European internet GPS service is a commercial product called European Data Access Service and is being organised by the Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service, or EGNOS.
