EIB gives helping hand to small businesses in Italy

The European Investment Bank and Italy’s Intesa Sanpaolo banking group have signed an agreement to provide loans worth up to €670 million for small and medium sized businesses in Italy.

The funding is intended to help mitigate the effects of the country’s current economic crisis and help kick start the recovery process, according to a statement by the EIB published on 30 July.
