Austrian graduate programmes too full, says rector

The Rector of the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU) has called for a reduction in the number of graduate places for master degrees because the university is over capacity, according to Austrian daily Die Presse.

The newspaper reports that rector Christoph Badelt has repeated a request to the government to limit the intake of the university, an issue first raised in 2009. In the previous academic year, WU awarded nearly 1050 masters places: ten times greater than capacity, Badelt said in an interview.
