China failing to attract European investment

The secretary-general of the European Chamber of Commerce in China has said that European companies in China should have the same access to fiscal stimuli as their Chinese counterparts, to encourage more investment, according to the newspaper China Daily.

European companies’ R&D spending in China lags behind the United States, Canada and India despite China’s long-term efforts to encourage investment, which is in part due to China’s weak system for intellectual property rights protection, writes China Daily.
