Commission plans to kindle entrepreneurial spirit

The European Commission is planning to launch an Entrepreneurship Action Plan to address increasing unemployment by encouraging the set-up of innovative businesses.

A consultation on the plan was launched by the directorate general for industry and entrepreneurship on 17 July, after research showed that 45 per cent of EU citizens want to be their own bosses. However, only 11 per cent of working-age citizens run their own business.
