The European Commission is to try out a ‘scientist-friendly’ selection process for its Future and Emerging Technologies Open (FET-Open) scheme, as a transition towards simplification under Horizon 2020.
Under the pilot scheme, submitted proposals should be a maximum of ten pages long, and successful projects will be fully implemented based on the proposal. The evaluation of projects will be conducted in two stages, which the Commission says will speed things up without compromising quality.
