DFG €2.3 million for climate research

DFG, the German research agency, is to extend its funding of climate research collaboration based at the Freie Universität Berlin with a €2.3 million grant.

The three-year grant will fund the second funding phase of the Stratospheric Change and Its Role for Climate Prediction (SHARP) project, which looks at the long-term effects of climate change in the atmosphere. The research aims to improve understanding of climate change processes and predict how the stratospheric layer of the atmosphere is likely to be affected in the future.
