A European organisation involving 31 countries has signed a cooperation agreement with the China State Oceanic Administration (SOA) to exchange oceanographic satellite data for research use.
The European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT), based in Germany, currently involves 26 member states and 5 associated countries. The organisation operates meteorological and ocean satellites used to monitor the environment and global climate.
