Germany launches €16 million epigenome project

The German Ministry for Research and Education is to provide €16 million over five years for a national initiative to map the epigenome of human cells.

Researchers from 21 institutes will collaborate in the German Epigenome Program (DEEP) to analyse epigenetic markers in 70 different cell types, including aged cells and those carrying diseases such as obesity and arthritis.
