The funding scheme that rewards early-career ambition

The Branco Weiss Fellowship from Society in Science is named after the academic, entrepreneur and philanthropist who founded the organisation. It is run by the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH Zurich).

The scheme especially welcomes proposals that depart from the mainstream of research in their discipline. A fixed amount of 500,000 Swiss francs (€455,400) is available for five-year fellowships. The society awards up to 10 fellowships each year.
