Astrophysicist named woman scientist of the year

The French Ministry for Higher Education and Research has named Anne-Marie Lagrange, an astrophysicist based in Grenoble, as female scientist of the year.

This is the top prize in the Irène Joliot-Curie awards, distributed each year to recognise the achievements of French women in science and technology.
