Scientists urge France to learn from Fukushima

France must draw serious lessons from the events that followed the earthquake and tsunami that hit northern Japan this year, its Academy of Sciences has said.

In a report on the disaster, published on 29 June, the academy warned that the Fukushima nuclear crisis showed that even rare events could have devastating consequences for nuclear power.
