Servier faces possible benfluorex fraud charge

A French pharmaceutical company involved in the benfluorex scandal could be sued for defrauding public and private health insurance, according to an article in Le Figaro on 5 August.

A Paris court ordered that Servier Laboratories should be investigated for fraud, in addition to the initial charge of “aggravated deception” and “homicide and unintentional injuries”, the newspaper reported.
