Fillon backs R&D tax credits for big business

French Prime Minister François Fillon has dismissed calls to focus R&D tax credits on small and medium-sized businesses as “absurd” in a speech on innovation.

Speaking on 9 March at the Isère–based R&D facility of cement firm Vicat, Fillon said that big businesses are an essential part the innovation landscape and called for an end to the tendency to pit small and large businesses against each other.
