France and Italy to step up science cooperation

The governments of France and Italy have said they want to increase their joint research activities through student and staff exchanges.

At a Franco-Italian summit held in Rome on 20 November, the research ministries from both countries cited a wide range of topics of joint interest, including space, energy, food, health and marine sciences.

The cooperation between France and Italy is part of a wider effort to build higher education and research cooperation across countries north and south of the Mediterranean, France’s research ministry said in a statement.
