Recruitment drive starts at national research centre

France’s national research centre, the CNRS, has announced that it intends to hire up to 300 researchers in 2014.

A competition to find the researchers opened on 2 December and has a registration deadline of 6 January. The recruitment drive “bears testimony to our organisation’s commitment to being a major actor in the worldwide knowledge-based economic race,” said CNRS president Alain Fuchs.

The centre is made up of about 1,200 laboratories and carries out research in a broad range of areas, including arts and humanities, information sciences, engineering, mathematics and the natural sciences.
