Academics and businesses in France have come together to mark the first anniversary of an agreement to improve their collaboration and give students more experience of industry.
The CPU, France’s association of university presidents, and Cdefi, which represents France’s engineering schools, met business representatives on 26 November to discuss how their joint work and students’ prospects could be improved. Geneviève Fioraso, the secretary of state for higher education and research, was also present.
The event included a presentation on the success of I-Defx, a website that helps employers to identify which courses have students with potentially useful skills for their companies. The Université Paris 13 launched this recruitment tool 2 months ago.
