Didier Laussel has been named provisional administrator of the Institut d'Etudes Politiques d'Aix-en-Provence, following the previous director's resignation over an outsourcing scandal.
Laussel, a professor of economics and an adviser to the president of l’Université d’Aix-Marseille, took up the role on 8 December. He was chosen by the state secretariat for research and higher education.
Christian Duval, the previous director, resigned on 19 November after the institute received criticism for outsourcing several masters programmes to institutions abroad. Those institutions charged substantial fees, and the transparency and quality of the programmes was called into question.
