France has become an official member of a legal entity created to carry out the activities of Cost, the framework for European cooperation in science and technology.
On 25 February, France became the 24th official member of the Cost Association, which has subsequently gained two more. The association, created in September 2013, brings together the governing bodies and administrative functions of Cost. It facilitates Cost’s interactions with the European Commission and helps to secure the framework’s future stability.
Cost, established in 1971, promotes the coordination of nationally funded research across Europe. It has 35 member states, more of which are expected to join the association.
