‘We’re listening’, Valls tells researchers

Prime minister Manuel Valls has said that over half of a promised €10-billion investment from France’s national innovation programme will be allocated to basic research.

Valls was speaking at a conference on 14 December on France’s national research strategy, which was published in March and informs the funding programmes of the ANR, France’s national research agency.

The €10-billion innovation programme known as PIA was promised by president François Hollande in September.
