Employability tool for PhDs launched

A digital platform to improve the esteem in which PhDs are held in France and improve students' employment prospects has been launched by industry and academic groups.

The DocPro platform, announced on 13 February, will allow PhD holders to create profiles and describe their skills using criteria that are recognised and understood by industry. It will also allow interested firms to describe the skill-set they need, using the same vocabulary.

The aim is to improve communication between PhD holders and employers and reinforce the idea that PhDs have all the skills needed to satisfy industry’s needs.
