Inserm, France's national institute for medical and health research, has launched an applied research centre to develop ultrasound imaging systems.
The centre is the first in a planned series of what the institute is calling "technology accelerators". It will be based at the ESPCI Paris engineering school, Inserm said in a statement on 26 October.
In the first instance, the centre will be centred on a group of scientists already based at the ESPCI and affiliated with Inserm, ESPCI and the CNRS, France’s largest public research organisation. The group will continue to be led by imaging specialist Mickael Tanter.
